Events of This Semester

This semester is quite bright and eventful for me. I have participated in many events and there is also a lot of interesting things ahead of me. But today I will tell you about some of the most memorable and exciting events of this semester.

Duel-2021

Duel-2021 is one of the largest events of the University. It was attended by teams from different Higher Schools and associations. Duel -2021 was held throughout March. In total, there were about 6 competitions, each of which is unique in its own way.

This event was very special for me. We not only became closer with the students from other groups, I also managed to find new friends. Moreover, my classmate Michael and I were invited to join the Trade Union Organization of our institute. And although we didn’t manage to win at the end of Duel-2021, we had a good time and got a lot of positive emotions.

Cup Russia | Sputnik-5

As I said, I met the students from the 2nd year. They invited me to solve a business case with them and I gladly agreed. I have already solved the case with my classmates. They told us a lot about our experience, so I won’t repeat myself. But speaking of this case, it’s completely different from my first one. First of all, we really had to do the most difficult work in the field of finance and marketing. Secondly, this case was completely in English, which greatly complicated our task. And in the end, we had to come up with incredible things.

I was a financier in the team and on this slide you can see how I calculated the estimated profit of the company. This was my first time doing this, and I had to spend a lot of time studying formulas, statistics, and company reports. By the way, our company suffered significant losses in 2020 and we needed to get it out of the crisis.

Anyway, the case was complex and interesting and brought me really a lot of experience in new areas for me. I enjoyed working with this team and I hope that together we can solve many more cases in the future.

SPARGALKA

I have already said that I was invited to the Trade Union Committee of students of our university. To get there, you had to go through a school called SPARGALKA. There we gained really useful knowledge in the field of marketing, law, creating events and finding ways to cooperate with other organizations. From my point of view, such knowledge is very important not only in student life, but also in our future work.

Scientific conference

It is also worth mentioning that I took part in a scientific conference. There I presented my work on the topic of the START Treaty and how Russia and America agree on the limitation of nuclear weapons. This event was important for me, because for the first time I was able to speak to the public in an offline format and receive live criticism from my mentors and teachers. I finally realized in what direction I want to move on and what I want to do now. I was really interested in the topic of nuclear weapons and atomic research. Today, this is a rather acute topic and therefore I plan to write several more works on it. But going back to the conference, I performed well and was recommended for publication. This came as a surprise to me, because I felt that my work was not perfect enough, and moreover, among the speakers were undergraduate and graduate students. Anyway, it gave me a strong motivation to study the nuclear field of politics.

Model UN

At the end, I would like to say a few words about the UN model. During this semester, I managed to participate in three different models, each of which is unique and interesting in its own way. Soon, a team of students from Nizhny Novgorod and I will go to Moscow for the most important model of the UN in Russia. And I sincerely hope that this model will be unforgettable and bright.
